Challenge
MCAS Cherry Point is the busiest Marine Air Corps station in the world and home to the storied military Search and Rescue team. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command determined the center mat of the air station, first commissioned in 1942, needed to be replaced. They chose CSI to accomplish the project.
Because of the unique project conditions, sources of aggregate material were more than 90 miles away. To save money, all concrete removed during the project was recycled into the bases and aggregates and reused.
